Anshi National Park Karnataka

Located in the Western Ghats, it has about 197-odd species of birds. Some of the most common ones are the Malabar hornbill, the Ceylon frogmouth and the pied hornbill. Most of the flowers here in bloom during August and September, and it is a beautiful sight. Outside the southeastern limit of the park is the Ulvi Channabasaveshwara Temple. The Kadra Valley view point is only 12km from here, and the Karwar beach is 55km away. The park is covered by semi-evergreen and evergreen forests.


You can spot animals like the elephant, tiger, gaur, sambar, spotted deer, barking deer, mouse deer, common langur, bonnet macaque, wild boar, slender loris, panther, mongoose, wild dog, sloth bear, Malabar giant squirrel and the porcupine. The park is also home to the famous king cobra and the python. Viper and krait are commonly found, too.


It is about 580km from Bangalore. The nearest railway station is 100km away, at Dharwad. You can also get a domestic flight to Dharwad.
