Karkala Mangalore

Laying about 50km from Mangalore, the main attraction of the town is the Ananthapadmanabha Temple. This stone temple is 700 years old. After Shravanabelagola, Karkala is the next most important Jain pilgrimage centre. The Chaturmukha Basadi, with its four entrances and the Parswanatha Padmavathy Basadi are famous, too. The Bahubali sculpture, at 42ft, is the second tallest one.
