The man made lake occupies about 1.5sq.km. area. This lake was also known as Halsur or Alasur. It was constructed by Kempe Gowda during the second half of the 2nd century. A boat club is the major attraction of the lake. There are tiny islands that dot the lake, and an evening cruise on the lake is refreshing.
